White Campion

White Campion Silene latifolia

Wiverton, Norfolk, 6 September

Unlike its close relative Red Campion, this species is an introduction to Britain, albeit an ancient one. Although usual a short-lived perennial, White Campions can survive in arable fields, and are also found along road verges and along hedge-banks.
