Hawkweed Oxtongue

Hawkweed Oxtongue Picris hieracioides

Swaffham, Norfolk, 7 August

Native. A plant of longish grass on chalk and limestone, this oxtongue is a well-behaved native, unlike the introduced Bristly Oxtongue, which threatens to become dominant on many road verges. In Norfolk it is scarce and mostly found along abandoned railways.
