Marsh Pennywort Hydrocotyle vulgaris
Edgefield, Norfolk, 7 August
Native. Easily overlooked, the rounded, penny-like leaves of this species form a mat on the ground in and amongst taller vegetation. The tiny flowers are much harder to find, being hidden away - a real hands and knees job! Intriguingly, the species is usually placed in the carrot family, together with Cow Parsley and Hogweed.
