Adder's-tongue Ophioglossum vulgatum

This strange little fern is always a delight to find, but is not always easy to see, growing as it usually does amongst taller grasses. It is very local, as agricultural intensification has removed permanent pastures and neglect and lack of management has produced a ranker sward in other habitats.
