Wood Horsetail Equisetum sylvaticum

Very much a plant of the north and west of Britain, these were photographed at the sole remaining site in East Anglia, where there are two substantial patches of the plant, although each patch may represent just one clone. Relatively few of the fronds are fertile and cone-bearing.
